Research: Digipak Adverts in music magazines
These are scanned images from various music magazine to give us an idea onto what we have to address with our Digipak advert. As you can see they all have little information in order to intrigue the audience further- by visiting their social media accounts or institution. All of these digipak adverts appear very sleek and professional.

Planning: Using 70's tv footage of mods and rockers- and news broadcasts
Within our music video, we have chosen to add in elements of 80's footage of mods and rockers, along with news articles and hippies. We have chosen to do this as we feel that it adds to our music video in creating the idea of nostalgia, memories and rebellion, this also means that our video is starting to become more and more post modern. The clips used in this scene, other than the mask overlay and Indya's eyes are not ours

Planning: Potential new shot
We think that we could emulate this shot within our music video for the lyric, "Media couldn't buy your soul"- as it resembles the how society is drip-fed what we are thought to believe. On the lyric we think that the person could be in a medium close up, then hands appear and cover the eyes and the mouth.
Group post: Inspiration for extreme close-ups from Adele
Throughout Adele's- Hello the music video features many extreme close-ups of the star. This essentially conveys facial expressions more clearly- to push the lyrics so they have a more compelling meaning. I believe that this could help within our music video to convey more emotional lyrics.

Group post: Lack of help for the second shoot
Considering our last big shoot turned into a slight nightmare because of the loss of footage, we decided we would need to reshoot. This shoot didn't turn out particularly well, this was the reason of our cast not showing up. I believe this was down to the fact that we had already done the shoot and people lost the motivation to redo it. Our organisation of the shoot was equal to the first shoot but because of reasons listed people were unable to help us.

Planning: Vignette mask
Within our music video, we have added in a vignette from a freeze frame in order to create a still image for the background- this was quite difficult at first on photoshop but with the help of our teacher we achieved the look we were after. We also used a blur in order to make it not as harsh, we also chose to use pink for the background, this is as the pink flowers created synergy with the pink flowers in Indya's hair- pink is also an incredibly feminine colour- and makes Indya appear girly and incredibly feminine.

Planning: Favourite Shot as of yet
This is my favourite shot so far within our music video, I performed a stationary shot that was a medium close up of Indya. This is while Indya is singing the chorus of the song I think it looks really effective with the very distant background that really establishes our push of "rural identity" as this is what we are trying to appeal to our potential target audience. The lighting of the shot is high key but is naturalistic, this in turn created a noticeable golden glare on the shot. This could be further denoted of the song making you feel warm and happy.

Planning: Make-up
For today's shoot, in which we replicated the lost footage, we asked Indya to bring her own makeup- this is as she was allergic to the makeup we brought on the shoot before, it meant that Indya could wear the dark lipstick makeup we wanted her to wear for the shoot. This is the type of make-up we want Indya to appear in, as it really encapsulates this punk rock image.

Planning: Saturday Shoot
On Saturday Me, Emily and Indya did a video shoot in Brigg (Our local town) the locations we used were the cemetery and Emily's garden to do some performance shots, we used these as we felt that they were good for trying out different angles and framing techniques. We're trying to get some more performance shots to replace the ones we lost last weekend. However, it was rather awkward shooting in the graveyard! I also played around with the pull focus of the camera to get more unique/artistic shots.

Planning: James Vincent McMorrow- Higher Love Mood Board
Within this song, the lyrics are quite slow and its based of an older
song, so with in this music video I decided to combine both 80's style
clothing with outdoors clothing- this is because I felt that together,
they both had good synergy, however, I decided to add in pops of bright
colour, this is as I thought that the main singer could wear them to
make them stand out.

DISASTER
Today, when we were uploading the footage from my memory card to Final
Cut Pro X- a major problem occurred, the memory card reader ejected
without us touching it and the files corrupted- which meant that we lost
six hours worth of filming in total. At the minute our teachers and
technicians are trying their hardest to recover our files. This was the message we saw while we were uploading the shots.
Planning: Call Sheet For Filming On Saturday
Group post: Research and Planning - Star image and development
This grid was used to establish how our star image would be perceived by our potential audience, with simplistic references to the music video itself.

Planning: Catering for everyone on set
Within our shoot, Emily took the responsibility of making sure that everyone was fed throughout the day.
As part of our time schedule, we stopped for a lunch break at 12:30. Their was various sandwiches, sausage rolls and J20's aswell as cans of coke. I also believe that Emily took the precautions of the
food's hygiene with the use of certificates, which meant that all the food was prepared
appropriately and carefully.
Research: Snapchat- Social media promotion
On the day of filming, Indya our main singer and our extras
uploaded images and short clips to Snapchat of me and Emily filming. We did this as a method of
promotion- In a similar way to different film companies. By allowing our
audience to view the clips on Snapchat, they were able to view into our
production phase, and see what was going on. Hence, this enticed them,
as it meant that they could observe what was going on, and would make
them want to see the final product.
